Heading off to the beaches or the mountains for your holiday this season? It’d help to know that travelling can ruin your skin if you don’t pay attention to it.
While travelling, you’re prone to exhaustion, ignorance, improper diet, hectic schedule and changing weather. These are a deadly combo when it comes to ruining your glowing skin. Travelling can also ruin your skin in a big way, especially when you are travelling from one city to the other having adverse temperature differences.
So here are a few smart tips to keep your skin healthy and supple while travelling—so that you glow like a star!
1. Keep your moisturizer handy!
We suggest you apply intense moisturizing cream the night before you travel. This will help you keep your skin hydrated and moisturized, thus saving you from the adverse weather conditions. Direct sunlight or strong wind can make the skin dry and damage the skin texture markedly. Reapply the moisturizer while travelling to maintain a soft, supple skin, irrespective of the weather conditions.
2. Make sunscreen your best friend
Irrespective of the season, apply sunscreen generously to save your skin from the harsh effects of UV rays. This way you can protect your skin from tanning and sunburns. Excessive exposure to the sun also result in early ageing. Therefore, sunscreen is an ideal product to save yourself. Reapply it every 2-3 hourly and use a good emollient to keep the skin moist from within.
3. Cleanser is a must
It is quite obvious that while travelling, your skin attracts a lot of dirt and dust which get accumulated on your skin and cause breakouts. A cleanser will wash out all the muck and keep your skin clean and refreshed. It is also important to keep your cleanser with you as even a slight change in skincare products may act abruptly on your skin and cause ‘vacation breakout’.
4. Comfort clothing should be high on priority
While going out, you will be engaged in activities like trekking, games or simply roaming around and exploring the place. Comfortable clothing will save you from the horrors of irritation, itching, and rashes that could happen due to uncomfortable, tight clothes. Various issues like eczema, infections and heat bumps are common with tight clothes, therefore wear loose, comfortable clothes. Skin allergies and certain types of contact dermatitis need to be diagnosed and taken care as one observes them.
5. Blotting Papers are the new toner
Most people experience oily skin while travelling, mainly because of accumulation of dirt. Blotting papers come handy to remove that oil from the face, especially the ‘T Zone’. They are much better than regular tissues that leave a residue. People with sensitive skin can use them easily as well.
